Wings were on the menu last night. I love wings. Usually I serve them with homemade fries or onion rings. But last night we just ate wings. Not a very healthy food day, between Hello Dolly squares and wings.
I seasoned the wings earlier in the day with fresh garlic, cayenne pepper, hot red pepper flakes, salt, pepper and a little olive oil. Just toss the wings in a bag, add the seasoning and massage through the bag and leave in the fridge until ready to cook.. Heat the oven to 450°F. Place wings on a cookie sheet lined with parchment and bake turning once until the wings are done. You can eat them now or..........TIP: Finish the wings off on the grill. Just heat the grill to high. It only takes a minute or two and gives the wings a nice charred/smokey flavour. Put the wings on the grill, turn them over and take them off. This is the way they were served at at little pub type restaurant we went to in Toronto years ago. Served with a simple hot sauce made with Franks Hot Sauce and melted butter.
If I don't have a grill, will an oven work too? looks very very tasty!
ReplyDeleteYes they are actually ready to eat as soon as they come out of the oven. I just put them on a hot grill to get a little of the charred taste. They are only on the grill for a minute or two. It is the way they were served at a pub style restaurant we went to years ago. It isn't necessary though. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI'm a total glutton for wings. My absolute favorite are deep fried crispy then coated in a mixture of hot sauce and bleu-cheese dressing 2/3 to 1/3ish.
ReplyDeleteI love wings!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was in my 20's I worked at a sports bar that served wings and during the summer months my co-workers and I would sit out on the patio after our shift and have wings and beer! Good Times!
I love wings. These sound delish! Not quite grilling season here yet, but when it comes around, I'll be trying these.
