Greek

We had dinner with friends last night. Barb and I spent most of the day in Victoria yesterday and didn't get home until after 4:30 so dinner had to be something simple to put together. Chicken Souvlaki with rice and Greek Salad is one of Moe's favourite meals and Barb loves my Greek salad so the decision was an easy one.

I boned out the chicken breasts, cut into cubes and marinated with garlic, oregano and salt and pepper before leaving for the day. About an hour before we ate I squeezed the juice of a whole lemon over the chicken.

Cooked on a hot grill the chicken only takes about 10 minutes to cook.

Dessert was also simple.

Fresh Strawberries from Clif and Barb's strawberrry patch, sweetened with a little sugar and spooned over lemon sorbet. And to make it a little more interesting I poured a sparkling sweet wine (Moscato) over the berries.

Served in vintage brandy snifters.

  1. I love grilled chicken kebabs. I really want to try your Souvlaki recipe. I would love those flavors on the chicken! The strawberry dessert looks like a perfect summertime dinner ending. Gorgeous.
